Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Highlighting the Credit for Women Fund
Across the world, women are building small businesses that strengthen their families and communities. In underdeveloped regions, these entrepreneurs often lead the way in improving local food systems, even when resources are limited. Their work provides jobs, nourishment, and hope, yet many continue to face barriers to capital, training, and reliable infrastructure.
With our sister organization Food Enterprise Solutions, Grow to Market, has implemented the “Credit for Women” with the “Learning Loan business literacy program that has helped women entrepreneurs increase their business literacy skills to improve their businesses. GTM has proven that when women have access to the right tools and support, their businesses can flourish. Our mission is to help women entrepreneurs grow stronger, more resilient businesses that serve their communities. Through our ongoing fundraiser, we are providing women in underserved countries with the resources they need to turn their vision into reality.
Why Support Women Entrepreneurs
In many communities, women are the foundation of local food production and trade. They manage farms, prepare and sell food, services, and create opportunities that keep families fed and supported. But limited access to financial resources and business training often restricts them from expanding their economic impact.
By supporting women entrepreneurs, we help strengthen the food systems that sustain families and communities. These women are creating change that can be felt across generations, ensuring that more people have access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food.
How Grow to Market Supports Women Entrepreneurs
Through our programs and partnerships, Grow to Market focuses on three areas that help women-led businesses thrive:
Access to Capital We help women secure the funding they need to invest in equipment, expand production, and reach new markets. Financial access gives them the stability to plan for the future and build lasting success.
Infrastructure Support Reliable infrastructure allows small businesses to grow. We work to improve access to processing, storage, and distribution systems that help women maintain quality and reach more customers.
Business Literacy and Training Education and mentorship are key to building confidence and long-term success. We offer training in business planning, financial management, and operations so women can lead their enterprises with independence and strength.
Together, these efforts help create sustainable progress, giving women the opportunity to grow their businesses while strengthening the communities they serve.
Why This Work Matters
Women entrepreneurs are driving meaningful change in places where opportunity is scarce. Their success improves food security, creates jobs, and inspires others to follow their lead. When women thrive, entire communities benefit through better access to food, education, and stability.
The women we support are more than business owners—they are leaders, innovators, and providers. Their determination and creativity are transforming local food systems from the ground up.
